I had a Zoom call at 9am, my annual review with my Edward Jones financial advisor. My returns are great, my risk is right where I want it to be…cruise on! BTW, the internet worked great and the video and audio quality was flawless for those who need to know.
I joined G on the Terrace Deck just to warm up. This ship has ranged from chilly to freezing, and, despite the thermostat turned nearly up to the highest temp, even our cabin is cold. I go to shows in the Princess Theater wrapped in a MUTS blanket and am starting to worry a little bit about our future sea days to Hawaii. I brought one zip fleece and a I’m getting a little weary of wearing it every evening over whatever tropical or Mexican shirt I’m sporting. Fortuitously, I picked up another warm clothing item on board today (read on).
We had lunch in the World Fresh Marketplace (chicken tortilla soup for me) and then I went to the Piazza to listen to the Imperial Strings Duo (and drink hot tea and enjoy a piece of pound cake) while G went to the Adagio Lounge for a Military and Veterans Get Together. And speaking of the Piazza, I don’t know where everyone is on this ship. We’ve been commenting about it on the port days when we’ve been on board, but just assumed it seemed empty for that reason. But this is a sea day and I still don’t know where everyone is. Maybe it’s just a basic difference between the Crown and Royal Class of ships? I like it!!
With a couple of free hours, I warmed up in the hot tub on Deck 17 aft before sitting in a lounger on the back Deck 16. Yes, we have chair hogs on the Emerald Princess but there is always a lounger available somewhere.
We did an early clean up for tonight’s Captains Circle parties, scheduled for 5pm and 6:30pm in Club Fusion. We were honored to be this cruise’s 3rd most travelled guests, and excited to be joined by new friends “that” and Mr. “that” for the first party, and Linda for the second. This cruise’s numbers:
- 2559 days
- 1913 days
- 1776 days
Cutoff for the MTG Luncheon is around 650 days. For the record, we received a bottle of wine and a $50 voucher at the shops. G had felt my hand last night in the Princess Theater and couldn’t believe how ice cold it was, so for our gift we chose an oversized Emerald Princess hoodie with sleeves that fall over my hands. I’ll now be sporting that every night to shows in the Princess Theater.
We finally got to dinner in the Michelangelo Dining Room after the second party, and were seated in waiter Ramil’s section. What great service, especially as we were kind of dumped on him at the last minute.
There was plenty of entertainment to choose from, but I was wiped out after dinner, and we skipped tonight’s 80s deck party. Captain Baranski said in his noon announcement that there would be three ships in Puerto Vallarta tomorrow. Three ships! I have a feeling we won’t be leaving the ship. It took nearly 90 minutes to get through security and back on the ship when there were three ships in port in December. And I heard today that next cruise the Emerald Princess will be the only ship in each of these ports, which will be much, much better for sightseeing.
Always something to look forward to!
