There are ALWAYS clouds around the top of Nevis Peak. Nevis is a sister island to St. Kitts, and together make up one country. They are separated only by a narrow channel, yet they both are dominated by a dormant volcano.
Nevis was named by Columbus who called it Los Nieves. The constant cloud cover around the volcano's peak reminded him of snow (nieves) on mountain tops.
