We went ashore wearing swimsuits and hooked up with one of the small boat operators taking people back and forth to Lovers Beach. We had not been there for many years, and, unfortunately, they no longer rent kayaks to go there (that was always fun). A round trip boat ride was $15pp and we opted not to add the sea lion colony for $5 more (they’re pretty stinky).
We spent just over an hour walking between Lovers Beach and Divorce Beach (on the Atlantic side) before we caught a boat back to the marina and returned to the ship. We didn’t take iPhones this morning because we knew we’d be stepping in and out of the boat into knee to waist-deep water, so no pics, but it was another sunny and comfortable day with a few more clouds over the mountains.
We changed into shorts and Ts and had lunch on the Terrace Deck with the added attraction of fly swatting. These Cabo flies are aggressive! The Neptune’s Reef pool had been closed since the beginning of this cruise for tile repairs and that job is now complete and the pool is filled and open for use. However, the tile guys have moved to tearing up the floor tile by the hamburger grill. The grill is still open for service, but the middle pool area was not a pleasant place to be spending any time today.
We then headed back over on a tender to have $4 beers on the balcony at Wizzies, right on the tender pier, and returned to the ship just in time to get cleaned up for the Elite Lounge and dinner.
We had a bit of a debate over our entertainment choice for the evening: all football, or production show Magic To Do followed by the second half of football. The latter won (but I was sneaking peeks at the score throughout the production show). I think that was the right choice. The show was impressive; the game, not so much.
