Day 17: At Sea

Today was definitely a down day for us, resting up a bit for the drinking and socializing in store for us at tonight’s Captains Circle parties. I skipped breakfast altogether (G went to the Botticelli Dining Room) and we went to Botticelli for lunch. I was happy to again see one of the “old” menus. Can’t explain it, but was happy all the same.

G went to a Veterans get together at 1pm, and I keep forgetting to mention that Assistant Cruise Director Rachael sets up a missing man table for these get togethers, complete with a flag from the bridge that has flown over the ship.

Our weather was sunny (again) and 70-ish but breezy, and we squeezed in some hot tub and pool time before we got cleaned up for the evening.

The Captains Circle parties were held at 5pm and 6:30pm, and we were honored to attend both as this cruise’s 2nd Most Traveled Guests. The numbers (because some off you always want to know) were as follows:
  1. 1923 days
  2. 1786 days
  3. 1672 days
We squeezed in a one course dinner between the parties (personally served by Restaurant Manager Nebo) then returned to Club Fusion for the second party where I was so happy to see Diane and Fred whom we haven’t seen for over ten years and on the occasion of their wedding anniversary (and they were married on the Grand Princess!).

We wandered the ship listening to live music and then went to the Princess Theater for tonight’s production show Sweet Soul Music. It was supposed to have been Rock Opera but apparently there was an issue so we may see that later in the cruise. Hope so!
