Day 65: St. Lucia

We wanted to go to Vigie Beach today. Really, we did. I really wanted to be able to post something more exciting for St. Lucia than "we walked around the shopping area and dodged raindrops." Sorry, but today all we did was walk around the shopping area and dodge raindrops.

After breakfast, we walked off the ship just for a few minutes. I wanted to purchase a couple more pieces of that fun magnetic jewelry I had gotten here in November. But that booth was nearly sold out, and had only boring, single-colored ones left. We were chased back on the ship by a rain shower, but packed our beach gear, intending to leave as soon as we had eaten lunch.  We were sitting in the buffet and looking out, and it looked sunny, but just as we got up to leave, another rain shower moved in. We went down to the Promenade Deck and watched as, one after another, showers moved in from over the mountains, the sun came out for 10 minutes, then another shower moved in from over the mountains.

Not a great day for a beach or a walk.

G did go back off later to use some free wifi in the shopping area, but I settled on the Promenade Deck with a book. Tonight was heavily scheduled; I wanted to go to party line dance class with Leeah, but it started at 4:30pm and I knew from past experience it would run until 5:30pm, so I decided to skip that.  We did go to Stilton night in Skywalkers starting at 5pm and then to dinner at 5:30pm so as to get to the Beatle Maniacs show in the Princess Theater at 7:15pm.

There was no second show option in the Explorers Lounge tonight, but band Sole Provider was playing, and that's just as good. We stayed until they took a break, then moved to Crooners for pianoman Kory Simon's Broadway singalong tonight. His performance was standing room only...apparently, he picked up quite a following after his show in the Explorers Lounge last night. Finally, by 10:30pm, it was time for bed. We arrive in Barbados early tomorrow, at 7am, and our preliminary plan is to go to Lobster Alive. With four cruise ships in port tomorrow, we either need to go early or stay home.
