Eventually, we left the Marriott to walk across the island at one of its narrowest points to the Caribbean side. I actually took a photo of the sidewalk we walked on part of the way. It was the nicest sidewalk we've been on since we left home, aside from Fort Lauderdale. Actually, it may have been nicer than those in Fort Lauderdale. The flowering bushes along the way made the walk even nicer.
On the Caribbean side, we returned to Timothy Beach, where we had been on an earlier visit. The waves here were gentle and the water was very warm. There was also some free wifi of marginal quality. We were able to make some Skype calls back home and found out about the miserable weather they were having in the middle of the country.
Which made the hot sun and warm water we were enjoying seem even better. ;-)
