We had a cloudy day yesterday, which was sad, because, unlike the prior day when it was sunny and hot but business kept us indoors, yesterday we actually had the time to be outside. But it was not to be. So we spent a bit of time sorting through paperwork (we keep accumulating more and more. I fear that the luggage weight we've lost by using up toiletries is going to be more than offset by paperwork), and enjoyed a leisurely breakfast and lunch in the dining room.
The Super Bowl was shown in three places on the ship: Movies under the Stars (MUTS- the big screen), on a big screen in the casino and on multiple screens in Club Fusion. It didn't start until 5:30, so we went to dinner early and then watched it from Club Fusion. They had hot serving trays with typical football fare- wings, nachos, wrapped cocktail wieners, etc. Of course, things can get loud, and they did, but most watching, like us, did not have a dog in the fight and therefore just wanted to enjoy a good game. Which it kind of wasn't. But I was a little glad to see Eli Manning lead the Giants to a win.
We have certainly enjoyed watching football on the ship this winter!!
We left the game early to go to the International Crew Show. Once again, our waiter Suttipong, and his friends and fellow waiters Surasit and Nicky performed their traditional Thai dance. This time I recorded it in its entirety, and posted it at:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GAiiO-l14SQ
Sutti has told us the significance of the dance- it portrays a Thai legend and is supposed to be performed by seven females, but he's working with what he has. I keep trying to talk other Thai waiters into joining him. It is really beautiful and makes me want to book a cruise to Thailand.
By then the game was over, but we watched the presentation of the Vince Lombardi trophy, and then headed to bed. Turnaround day was the next day, and it's always a busy one.
