Around 2pm, after more than three wonderful hours on the beach, rain clouds moved in. For awhile, it was raining lightly with full sun, on and off. But eventually, by 3pm, the rain picked up. No matter...we had to take the 3:30pm ferry back to the ship, so we walked up the steep road from the beach and down the other side to the water in a steady rain. Luckily, we had a shelter (the mail shelter/take-a-book, leave-a-book open air library) to wait in until the ferry came.
Once on board, we were warned: it would be a windy, wet and rough 10 minute ride back to the Crown Bay marina. And it was, all of those. But by the time we were walking back to the ship, the rain had stopped, and we enjoyed splashing through the puddles to get the sand off our feet.
