Finally, a decision was made to relocate the party, including the Beatle Maniacs set to Club Fusion. It was packed in there; EVERYONE wanted to see them and this new format. G was lucky to find two chairs with good sight lines, especially fortuitous since we really weren't going to dance. The Beatle Maniacs and the ship's production team were scrambling to get all their equipment set up on the small stage in their, and it was interesting to see just how much goes into doing that that we've never seen before. People waited patiently for about 30 minutes or so...nobody was going to miss this!
Finally, the music started and the dance floor was immediately packed. It seemed that the rain wasn't going to stop this party.
After about 30 minutes, the ship's party band, Fusion, started performing and the deck party followed a more usual path...party line dances led by the production shows dancers, dancing, cruise director Tim getting people worked up with the Macarena, the conga line and limbo. Fusion played a bit longer, and the Beatle Maniacs performed again.
It all ended sometime around midnight, and when we got back to the cabin, we spent about an hour watching ESPN and getting caught up on the game highlights. It looked liked we missed two great games, but the outcomes were not unexpected.
When we turned off the TV after 1am, G was immediately asleep. I, of course, was not, but instead said a prayer for BETTER WEATHER PLEASE for our next two days, our last visits to Bonaire and Aruba this season (weep!). We're hoping to do a beach dive or snorkel on Klein Bonaire; we need SUN to make it worthwhile.
