The Pacific Princess arrives in Papeete

We didn't set an alarm ('cause we really weren't sure of its arrival time), but as soon as we opened our eyes this morning (shortly after 5am) I looked out to see if the Pacific Princess was in sight. It wasn't, so I went on wifi and checked the webcam, and I could see the sunrise over Tahiti and the lights of Papeete in the distance.

Sure enough, within 10 minutes or so, the ship appeared in the distance.

It cruised past the pier in order to execute a 180 degree turn into its berth.

Here it is almost docked, with an arriving Air France jet passing overhead. You can see a hatch on Deck 3 forward already open. It was interesting to watch (through binoculars) the ropes being thrown and officers standing on the bridge wing, things that we can't see when we're on the ship.

Safely secured at her berth, gangways set, flags flying...she's here!

Now, I have to go to breakfast and then, afterwards, pack up ten days of dirty laundry and lots of souvenirs. :-)
