I don't have much to report about today. It was a sunny sea day, not too bouncy and not too windy. My only accomplishments were to walk on deck, read on the Promenade Deck and sleep. Yes, I slept today. A lot. I think I was just worn out after seven port days in a row, and needed to recharge for the second 53 days of our cruise.
I skipped breakfast altogether and joined G for British Pub Lunch. I'm smarter now, and avoided the fish and chips, opting for the ploughman's lunch instead. We followed up with dessert in the Club Restaurant (ice cream for G). At 3:45pm, we went to the BIG!!!!!! $500 Treasure Hunt Drawing*!!! (*must be present to win), and guess what?? We BOTH won something!!! I won the free 8x10 casual portrait (which we promptly gave to our next-table mates, Kathy and Loren, with whom we were sitting. We have a stack of photos already, from our never-to-be repeated run as most traveled passengers). The next prize was for a free Reflections DVD of the cruise, and G's name was drawn for that. The DVD for this cruise, featuring video of the ship and the destinations on this itinerary really is a nice prize, and we'll enjoy it.
G returned from the Veterans get together with a bottle of champagne so we took that to dinner to share with Kathy and Loren as both are retired military. It was formal night, which meant beef tenderloins for both of us. Duo Great Escape has gone home and was replaced by duo 2 Cool. They may be too cool, but they are also too loud and their music is a bit edgier than this ship needs. We stopped by the Pacific Lounge after dinner to have a listen, but didn't stay long. We'll try again before writing them off, but we certainly miss Great Escape's more relaxed sound. We skipped the show in the Cabaret Lounge tonight (soprano Jennifer Fair); G was up shortly after 5 this morning and is already asleep tonight. I'm quite content to spend the evening with my book.
We'll want to be up early tomorrow to watch our arrival in Rangiroa; hopefully the dolphins will be expecting us.
