- We had a lovely lunch today with Cathy and Ron in the Club Restaurant. Along with friends Janet and Derek, they joined us for tonight's Captains Circle party. It was Captain Maresca's and Captains a circle host Catherine's last cruise with us. We will miss them!!
- Wine tasting at 3pm featured headwaiter Andrew from Poland, newly arrived this cruise after his vacation, but with whom we spent most of last winter on the Emerald Princess. I can't tell you how much seeing familiar people in strange places means to us. We're so happy he's here with us on the Pacific Princess.
-Unfortunately, now that Andrew's here, we may be leaving the Pacific Princess, albeit temporarily. We found out today that our chances of getting on the December 28th cruise are not as good as we once might have thought. It's good to know where we stand; I've been checking for updates from Princess multiple times every day and now can quit doing that. We're fine with staying in Papeete for 10 nights, but our concern remains protecting our valuables. We're still working on that, but it is fun to have a different experience to look forward to, and we won't worry too much about Tahiti sightseeing on turnaround days in the meantime. We'll have lots of time between December 28th and January 7th.
-Weather today was beautifully sunny. Are our rainy days behind us for awhile? We hope so. We now have seven port days in a row before our next day at sea, and while clouds certainly help cut the heat, these islands shine (and sparkle) in the bright sunlight.
That's it for today. We're in Rangiroa tomorrow, which means another dolphin greeting. This time I intend to make it out on deck in time. Forget watches and clocks...I've just asked G to wake me when he gets up. That's a more reliable (and less frustrating) way to make sure I'm on Deck 11 when I need to be.
