Part 2

We found lounge chairs in the shade of a picnic pavilion and set up for the day. I was quite content to lie back and look up at the palm trees over my head and listen to an audiobook while G did what he does best: walked around quite a bit and chatted with people.

I went in the water a few times on my Springways float. That thing has been a godsend. We used to bring cheap floats that we bought at the end of the season for $1, but they took a long time to inflate and deflate each day. This float with the net seat inflates in about 20 seconds and deflates even more quickly. Besides, it made a great basketball hoop for the kids at the pool this past summer. It's a winner.

We had a light lunch from the BBQ served by the ship's crew, and I went snorkeling. Princess Cays is not known for its coral...it's largely been wiped out, either by humans or storms. But, wow, it has great fish, largely because they are fed by passengers. It's a bit like snorkeling in an aquararium, and is a lot of fun.

We ended up staying almost until the last tender left shore at 3:15pm, and returned to the ship in time to spend some time in the hot tub and pool before dressing for dinner.
