Day 8: Puerto Vallarta

I didn’t write a word of this post until the next morning, which is a scary thing to wake up to, but fortunately (for me, not so much for y’all) we did almost nothing (but enjoyed it very much), so this will be short.

First, we really didn’t have a morning, or much of one, at least. I did get up in time to get to the World Fresh Marketplace before they took down breakfast, and was joined by new friend Linda, who was our guest at one of last night’s Captains Circle parties, and we chatted for over an hour. I finally took a cup of coffee down to G, hoping to sober him wake him up and it worked. We moved out to a table and chairs on the Terrace Deck where we grazed in the World Fresh Marketplace and were joined by new friends Tony and Carolyn (who definitely would win an award on any cruise for best dressed couple) and talked for two hours. TWO hours!  I mean, not a surprise for G, but for me?!?  They are so much fun.

And that is how it came to be time to get cleaned up for the evening and we had done nothing all day but sleep in, eat and talk. I loved it, though, really, our back drop all afternoon was not the beauty of Cabo, La Paz or Loreto but was instead the sound of sirens with Sam’s Club and WalMart in the background. Welcome to Puerto Vallarta!

Watching sail away from the Promenade Deck
With three ships in port, there isn’t a lot of wiggle room, especially considering these ships don’t have brakes!

We were back at our usual table (and how nice it is to have a “usual” table) with waiter Baran for dinner, and finished in time to catch sunset from the Promenade Deck (because we were still on CST) and were in the Princess Theater in time for tonight’s performance, Jefferson McDonald in Great Balls of Fire (and I stayed toasty warm in my new sweatshirt).

Alas, no green flash
I’ve only ever seen them in Hawaii

We followed that up with the Imperial String Duo in O’Malley’s Pub, and made it an early night. ‘ cause doing not one darn thing all day is exhausting.

Can you read these Princesses Port Guides?
I’m including them because I can read them on my iPad, but I’m not sure if they work on a laptop.
