Today had to be one of the best sea days ever. It was really fun, largely because we had a real “opposite”, laid back sort of evening. We should do this more often...maybe on our 100th day of the season. ;-)
We started with breakfast in the DaVinci Dining Room about 7:30pm, despite having moved clocks ahead an hour overnight (see what falling asleep early will do for you?). Waiter JoJo knows my breakfast selections by heart: two orders of orange segments followed by smoked salmon. Though our TV programming had returned by morning. we were still unable to get on WiFi, and I was starting to twitch. Finally, G figured out he could get into MedallionNet by not using the shortcut we’ve used since we came on board but instead by typing the MedallionNet address into the browser address bar. Deep sigh of relief.

WiFi, once it returned, was speedy
I returned to the cabin to write yesterday’s post and catch up on the Internet things I usually do each the evening. It was soon time to get ready for this cruise’s Most Traveled Guest luncheon in the Crown Grill. We were seated with Captain Steven Lewis, which was fun because first, we really didn’t know him very well but also because he is an extremely social captain. He kept us entertained throughout the entire lunch, and, as usual, our table was the last one to leave.
My starter made vegan
Salmon for my entree (G had the veal and said it was perfect)
My dairy-free dessert was sooooo yummy
The standard dessert was a work of art
The chefs and wait staff being introduced at the end of the luncheon
Such a fantastic meal ruined us for the rest of the afternoon, and we didn’t want to have to get cleaned up again for dinner so we stayed in the cabin and watched a movie this afternoon. We obviously didn’t go to lunch in the DaVinci Dining Room, but this was the menu there today:

We dressed formally for the evening (formal night #178 if the season), and went to the Elite Lounge just to see our new friend, Virginia. We certainly weren’t hungry! In fact, we discussed skipping dinner all together until I remember that they were making a special Tuscan-style cassoulet for me without dairy. I didn’t want to miss that. I had just the cassoulet and G had dessert and we called that dinner and were out of the dining room before 6pm.

Tonight’s Princess Theater show was a magician and, well, you know how we feel about that sort of entertainment. Instead, we returned to the cabin to change into shorts and went out to the Terrace Deck for tonight’s sunset. We sat in two loungers and watched as the sky changed colors and darkness fell, and then used an app on G’s phone to identify the stars that were appearing in the sky. Evenings don’t get much better than this one.

Tomorrow we will be on Dravuni Island in Fiji, one of my favorite ports from two years ago, with a long stretch of white sand beach and some of the best snorkeling I’ve ever seen.
Life is good. :-)
