St. Johns harbor, Antigua

G radioed me from the ship (again, those two-way radios have saved us) that he was up and ready to go to breakfast, so I returned to the ship and we got a few things to eat in the buffet and took them back to the Terrace Deck on the back of the ship to eat. The view was spectacular.

G had decided that he wanted to walk to the remains of the fort you can make out on the hill in the background of the first photo. It was one of the three forts surrounding St. Johns harbor (he didn't recall the name...those rum punches from that harbor cruise, remember?) that were not used to protect the British fleet (that was housed at English Harbor on the island's southern shore), but for signaling. There were several forts on Antigua for that same reason, and the remains of many still exist.

So, we gathered up Tilley hats and water bottles and walked off the ship.
