We attended the Captain's Welcome Aboard Champagne party this evening. Kind of. We exited the dining room just as the champagne was being distributed, so, of course, it seemed appropriate to take a glass. We ended up standing right where the senior officers were gathering for their introductions at the party. I had a chance to talk with Captain Georgio Pomato, and it was the perfect opportunity to thank him and his entire ship's company for the absolutely incredible experience we've had this winter on the Emerald Princess. As I told him, we've made memories that we'll treasure forever.
As we encounter different crew members that we might not see again, we're saying thanks and good bye. Something tells me this is going to be a difficult departure...
We then attended our final Motor City performance of the cruise. Was it because we sat in a different location in the theater, or was it because we knew that this was it...for some reason, it seemed special tonight. We might know the song sequence and dance steps by heart, but we loved it just the same. We've met so many of the dancers and singer Leigh Hussman over the past several cruises; it's fun to look at them as individuals as they perform.
