Afternoon tea for two

Afternoon tea in your cabin is an Elite perk we've never once used. We don't usually like to eat in the cabin...because there's food everywhere else on this ship. I also dislike the detritus of dirty dishes left in the cabin until the steward returns, and really detest it when people place their food trays and dirty dishes in the corridor (disGUSTing!!). So, we simply avoid having food and dishes in the cabin.

We made our first exception last week when we ordered morning coffee in the cabin. It was nice, but not really our thing. Being forced to leave the cabin for coffee and breakfast each day ensures we do, in fact, get moving in the morning.

However, we needed to try this just once, and today was the day. When I phoned to order it, I was asked how many people (2) and what we wanted (uh...just the usual, what most people order).

And what was delivered was feast enough for four kings. We couldn't make a dent, but packed the scones and cookies for the beach tomorrow, will take the teas home (because they can't re-use them once they been distributed) and ate the desserts between the two of us. The sandwiches were beyond us- a waste, but an education too. I'll never order the "usual" again!!
