Hitchhiking to Water Island

While waiting for the Water Island ferry, G struck up a conversation with a guy in a dinghy at the Crown Bay Marina dock. Much like Barbados, the next thing I knew we were being given a ride to Water Island, and not just the ferry dock there but to Honeymoon Beach itself, saving us the 15 minute walk from the dock to the beach, up one steep hill and down another.

The guy, Franklin, and his wife live on and run a charter sailboat business on this sailboat, Irie, which means a laid back, relaxing, easy time in the Caribbean. Nice guy, snd he had a darling puppy named Mr. Beans who was very excited to have company in the dinghy.

By skipping the ferry and the following walk, we were at the beach well ahead of others from the ship, and arrived there to find only 5 other people there. Check out that blue sky!
