We had a very early (7am) arrival into St. Kitts this morning, which was almost laughable, except that the ship's maneuvering into port makes noise that wakes EVERYONE up, regardless of what time we finally went to bed. No problem...we quickly fell back asleep and, finally, about 8:22am, started to stir. After the noise of docking, this was one quiet ship this morning! We heard that the South Americans on board were expected to party until 7am. We, of course, didn't make it nearly that long. But it certainly was a New Years Eve to remember. Or not. :-o
After a leisurely breakfast in the dining at our usual table for two by a window (thank you Francesco!), one of us (not me) was greatly troubled by the fact that we had not done any serious walking since Princess Cays three days ago, and felt that another forced march was in order. Thanks to Google maps, he mapped out a course to take us to the airport on St. Kitts with a view of both coasts (Atlantic and Caribbean) of the island. We set out shortly after 10am, not bad for New Years Day.
The weather was sunny and warm, but very windy, which went great lengths in consoling me that today probably wouldn't have been the best beach day. We are here three more times this season, so we can afford to be picky.
