Champagne waterfall

Every cruise, the first formal night is the captain's welcome aboard cocktail and the champagne waterfall. The captain starts it by pouring the first bottle of champagne and then the maitre d'hotel assists passengers in doing so.
On one cruise several years ago, it became suddenly more exciting when the ship lurched and the entire thing collapsed in a heap of glass and bubbly.
